    First Meeting Minutes of Group Orange

Activities

         Lim Lai Hock, whom is the chairperson began the meeting by addressing the attendance of the Orange members. After that, he comfirmed the previous meeting with the secretary, which is Chu Ming Huat. Lim Lai Hock asked whether the transport to Bukit Soga is ready.

        Fong Weng Choong replied that the transport available is on 30 & 31 May but we are not allowed to conduct our class project on those dates. Chong Chi Xin proposed that we should change the class project and we agreed with him.Fong Weng Choong suggested bowling as a replacement for our hiking plan and he asked others' opinions as well. Lim Wah Sing came out with scrabble competition while Chu Ming Huat replied with chess competition as it is more popular as compared to scrabble.

        Next, we began to vote. Scrabble competiton got 1 vote and chess competition got 4 votes. The class project is officially replaced with chess competition. Lim Lai Hock asked what should we consider  for the chess competition. Fong Weng Choong said that we can  collect money from participants for the expenses of the competition. Lim Wah Sing suggested that we should apply fund from UTHM. Chu Ming Huat said it is not possible because UTHM will not approve as this is only a class project. Chong Chi Xin said we can collect our fund from sponsors. This idea was quickly disagreed by Lim Lai Hock as he pointed out that finding sponsors is difficult. He further explained that the entry fee must be affordable by students so that we can have more participants.
     
       Chu Ming Huat said that the entry fee for the competition should be around RM10 to RM15 and he asked what kind of prizes should be given to the participants. Chong Chi Xin answered  with medal and certificates as we'll need to save the budget to get some food and drinks for the participants as well. Lim Lai Hock closed the meeting by saying the  budget need further calculation and hopefully it can be done in the next meeting. The meeting adjourned.
